🐱Combinators

Combinators are a category of words in concatenative languages that abstract common patterns of stack manipulation. They are commonly found in higher-level concatenative languages like Joy and Factor.

An example of a combinator is bi, which applies two different quotations to a single element in the stack. For example:

> 5 [ 1 + ] [ 1 - ] bi
Stack: 6 4
